Just remembered something from a thread on the T3 Sport/Touring section. Someone was suggesting that another make of pods was a little better than the K&Ns, for filtration, name was Uniflow I think.

I like it much better than the chrome side covers. I never liked those, to be honest. I've never tried them with stock exhaust, though, so I can't really comment on jetting recommendations.
My TBS had K&N pods on it with Stock exhaust when I bought it.
Jetting was 114 DynoJet mains and DynoJet needles
set to 3 notches from the bottom. It ran real good near sea level in Rhode Island. I brought it to Indiana about 800 ft. higher altitude.
I could not get it to Idle, so I went back to Stock with everything. I must admit I was much more interested in riding it than tinkering with the jetting, so I did not put much time into the tinkering.
