Do topcases ruin the classic looks of a TT?
I really love my Legend... much more than I had anticipated.
But, unlike my Beverly Cruiser, there is absolutely no storage.
I was thinking of getting a topcase / topbox for the back... but I wonder if that will ruin the traditional look of the Triumph
If I do get a case / box, I'm inclined to think that I will want to be able to easily remove the box.
What do you all think?
Do topboxes and / or topcases ruin the classic look of a TT?

Well, yes, but if it works for you, that is all that matters.
You should be able to fab a rear rack that will allow easy attachment and removal of a top box, so you only have it attached as needed. You can get a Givi universal top plate, but then you'd have to be creative on the mounting brackets!
Personally, I am comfortable using a tail pack for most excusions.

I don't think they integrate well with much any bike, but I use a (removable) Givi & use it when I need it. Sometimes lockable storage is really useful. Most of the time I use side bags but they aren't secure at all.
There's definitely a compromise, it seems, between practicality & aesthetics on bikes. Notice all the custom bikes that are pictured/shown without a front mudguard - look great but try riding it on a wet or muddy road! A mate of mine did, it went straight back on

I always fit hard cases to my bikes - they're just so practical. It's not that I don't care about the appearance of the bike, just that I like the convenience.
I have a full set of three hard cases for touring, but I fit the topcase every time I use the bike - after all, when you're riding you can't see what it looks like

My Legend has a Kuryakyn bag on the luggage rack, and I can add my two Vetter Bagman saddlebags (from the 80's) if I am overnighting. I also have a magnetic tank bag, which I find convenient for easy access to small items, but really only necessary on a long trip I think. My sleeping bag, tent and ground pad all go on the seat behind me, and it is actually more comfortable, as they make a great back rest. I'm sure it doesn't look very cool, but as much as I like my Legend's look, it's the way it rides that is most important to me. Going on a long trip with luggage is just about the best thing I can imagine, and this inexpensive and easy set-up really works great for me. I can eat up alot of pleasant miles, and honestly, I always think it is cool to see a standard bike loaded up like this, as I know the person riding is a real rider, and not someone jockeying a La-z-boy on wheels. Here's a photo:

I couldn't agree more - I love seeing a bike loaded up and on a serious tour....especially if it's me riding it

Something like the top box from the Valkyrie could look OK
I think the actual Valkyrie box may be a bit on the large side, but surely there must be other boxes with a classical design?
There is also the hard side cases recently shown by an Italian member that fits well into the classical theme of our machines.
