Exhaust baffle noise

Hi,
I'm new to the Hinckley Classic Triple forum.
I've owned 2 T509's and a 1050 Speed Triple and now have a 2000 Thunderbird Sport.

I wonder if anyone can help?
Every time I hit a bad bit of road/ potholes ect,the baffles in both exhaust cans rattle!
Any ideas on a fix?

Cheers.

Don't ride on bumpy roads. Don't you folks across the pond pay taxes for road upkeep?

Are you sure it is the baffles you here, and not some other loose part? If it truly is the baffles, maybe a welder can retack them in place? Other than that, I guess it would be a new set

What normally rattles is the little chrome cover that hides the clamp, between the headers and the mufflers. Get shot of them, and fit some decent stainless clamps.

Thanks for your reply.
The UK is FULL of bumpy potholed roads!
We pay crazy money for road tax but in all goes somewhere else,
I suspect into the pockets of our overpaid government bosses.
The roads in the county I live in (Sussex) are like a bombed airfields!
I have narrowed the rattle down to the exhaust cans so a re-weld seems the only answer.
I will certainly try removing those chrome covers and fit some better clamps.

road charges

Usual story, we Brits invented tarmac (well, them Scots, actually...) and we seem to be incapable of maintaining our crumbling road system even to third world standards.

We pay some of the highest road taxes in the world, and our caring sharing government blows it on.......... well, what, exactly?

You people of an American persuasion think that British dentistry is bad, got news for you, it's the crummy road that shake our teeth out of our heads!

Sorry your roads are so bad; perhaps Lucas has been manufacturing macadam?

Whatever other faults you may claim, I still love your motorcycles!

Right on!
A main road near me (in Brighton) is known as corrugated alley!
My body is shaken to pieces every time I use it and I try and avoid at all costs!
It's about time we had a revolution in this country and hang all the greedy politicians and businessmen from the street lights!

i'm also curious if your baffles have been drilled by a prior owner. mine don't make any noise since i drilled with them off the bike, but there was quite a bit of metal pieces falling out the end. it's a possibility since something could have been left behind, just a thought
