Did I mess up

Was looking at where I took the centerstand off the 1997 triumph adventurer. Does that bolt and bushings that goes through the centerstand need to be there. I took it off and sent it with the centerstand.

The pivot bolt supplied with the stand will have been a replacement for the shorter bolt that was originally fitted through the drag link. So you will need to replace it with the shorter bolt. A sleeve and bearing go through there too.

would that really screw the bike up if you rode it without that screw in.

I'd talk to a dealer, tell them what you removed. The drag link pivot bolt is an M12x119 torx head, I think - but check with the dealer to be sure - and you will need the locknut, too, presumably. Best if you can look at the dealer's fiche for the rear suspension to identify what you removed and what you didn't. The centre stand would have had sleeves/bushes that fit inside its two pivot arms - if they are the bushes you say you removed (they are only needed with the stand fitted, obviously) then the sleeve and roller bearing that runs through the drag link should still be in place. If not, then you will need to replace them, and I think there are a couple of seals in there, too.

Another thought. Bikebandit have a schematic of the rear suspension linkage on a 1996 Adventurer here

They don't use the same part numbers as Triumph, though.

Would the person you sent the center stand to send you there unneeded bolt and spacer?
