97 Daytona forks on a 2K T-Bird?
New guy here. Been reading the forum all summer since finding a steal of a deal on a 2000 T-Bird with very few miles. Already did the "cheap rear suspension upgrade" as well as added S3 bars and risers, and would still like to improve the front suspension and brakes.
I've searched through dozens of threads and haven't (yet) found an answer, so I'll ask it here. Will the forks from a 97 Daytona fit my T-Bird?
Thanks in advance. This is a great forum.

That's the T595, right? I don't know if that fork fits or not. The fork from the older Daytonas fit straight in, though.

As long as they are 43mm, they should work. You'll want to get the master cylinder and brake splitter. You'll also need to come up with a creative solution for a front fender.

I have a complete front end from a 1993 Daytona on my TB. Slid right in, nothing to modify. For looks, I did modify the front fender, but it wasn't required for it to work.
The triple clamps differ, so I decided to stick with the stock TB clamps and drilled them to accept bolts to hold the brake line splitter. The other option was to either modify the frame or the Daytona lower triple clamps - or both - in order to be able to turn the handlebars.

Not sure how you mounted the stock classic fender, Faffi, because the forks are entirely different in terms of fender mounting points:
'93:
Even more so for a '97:
The stock fender would not work from a classic, without coming up with a different mounting method. Of course, anything can be done!

I retained the Daytona fender.
Before
After, before cutting off the final 4.5in from the front part

Kinda suspected that, Faffi. Looks like it required so mods to retain the "correct" look. Nice job!

Thanks for all the info, and ideas! It appears that the fork diameter is larger for the T595s, so a direct swap is not going to happen. I guess I'll keep my eyes out for an earlier donor......
Thanks again!
