am thinking about putting a adventure rear guard/fender on my legend ( just for the hell off it ) i know the brackets are different and the adventure seat is a lock type mine is a bolt on and the taillight of corse but anything else are the subframes different ?

Yes, whole rear subframe is different. I think that gives a lot of work if you don't change whole subframe.
I did the same swap (but other way around) for my previous bike.
Adventurer subframe front and T-Bird frame rear (second picture)
