Does anyone know the size of the mounting bolt for the exhaust pipes on the 1998 TBS?

I was riding to work on Monday when I heard the top exhaust pipe start rattling. In checking things over, the mounting bolt must have vibrated out. I looked in my Triumph service manual, but all it shows is how much tourque the bolt needs. It does not show the size. Unless I am looking in the wrong place.

Thanks for your help. It's not that I don't like riding the Honda but I need my Triumph fix....

Thanks a lot,
I am hoping to spend fifty cents at the hardware store instead of $5.00 at the dealership.

Hopefully I'll be back and business by tomorrow afternoon.

jings sport, you'd put a Scotsman to shame.
Go on, buy the proper bolt and put them all in with Loctite.

ps. my old '99 had the same disease, on a bumpy highland tour the bolts fell out of the top silencer which then clanged like a cowbell all the way home.

yeah mine dissapeared like that too, I just put an 8mm bolt in it. Check all the others too. Some were loose on mine, I rechecke them ever now and then.

I suppose if I was old enough, nostalgia would creep in when I started talking about having to check to make sure everything was still bolted together before each ride. :-D

Thats strange - when I (a couple of weeks ago) changed out my original silencers for TORS I noticed that one of the mounting bolts on the original silencers was missing. I'll have to keep an eye on mounting bolts for the TORS.
