In anticipation of a longer distance ride I am hoping to buy a set of highway pegs for my 95 t-bird. I found two sources Ma's cycles and Great Bay cycles. I am 6'5" so I am thinking the apparent extra couple inches that Ma's engine guard and peg kit offers would be more satisfactory then the Great Bay kit. Also I think with The pegs being further apart on the Ma's kit it would be more comfortable. However, if the great Bay pegs would fit the bill I would much rather have them and save myself $150. Also I am getting a larger front sprocket installed next week. I am jumping from a 17 to an 18 tooth sprocket. If anyone has any experience with these two modifications I would appreciate any reccomendations.

Thanks, Rod M.

I've got the Ma's bars with a couple of cheap folding highway pegs.

I chose the Ma's over the Great Bay partly because my engine isn't pre-drilled for the Great Bay bars and partly because I also wanted some engine case protection if I got stupid.

Your choice...

Jim

I got the Great Bay Hwy pegs last year. (I didnt think any bike had the area predrilled for them...) They send you the kit to do-it urself- everything you need! It was pretty simple. I like the look of them- they dont look as "after-market" as the other ones. I am 5'11" tall and they are nice to have on long trips.

Here is what Ma's Cycles has to offer: Engine Guard

And here is a link to Great Bay's site:Highway Bars

Also, Vonbonds and I both have Triumph bars on our bikes (see photo albums).

Rigby, I looked at your album and never saw highway pegs like that before. You said they were Triumph pegs so I looked at Triumph's web site and nothing like that was listed. Actually, they didn't have any accessories listed at all. Are there any sources for pegs besides the two I previously listed? If not I think I am going to go with the Ma's version. Does anyone have any advice for installation? Is there any drilling or modifications involved?

Thanks

Hey rodmo, the highway pegs I have used to be offered by Triumph. The original owner had them installed. I'm not even sure Triumph actually made them (probably out-sourced them). Triumph doesn't offer any accessories for our bikes anymore. The only sources for highway pegs for the T3 classics that I can find is Ma's and Great Bay. I like 'em both but I think they are overpriced. I'm thinking about building a bar like Great Bay's - it's a straightforward square bar stock with holes in it. And my bike is predrilled.

Good luck on whatever you choose.
