Well, I met with fellow T-Rat member Jeff, with his gorgeous '01 Legend, and we swapped seats. Unfortunately, I didn't have my digital camera to compare them, but interestingly, Jeff's stripped-down Legend looked a lot better with my "ironing board" seat, and my chromed-up T-bird looks a lot better with the "cruiser"-style stepped seat.

I'll take some long rides this weekend and see if it is any more comfortable than the stock seat. Even if it's not, it probably won't be any worse. And since it's lower, I can easily add a pad or something on top of it.

I love the look, too. Almost looks like leather!

It does look better than the stock banana seat.

Martin,
I've got the Legend seat on my T-Bird and the difference is amazing. Looks are a lot better and comfort is 100% better. Rode to Presscot AZ for the Raid there and didn't have the numb bum that you get from the stock seat. Rode to Las Cruces NM for friends daughter's high school graduation and arrived comfortable as could be. If you get to keep it I'd suggest you do! It will be a great trade for you. Also are you planning to go to the Steamboat Rally. Demo truck will be there and lot's of other Triumph riders. This is in your area. My wife and I will be there again this year. Great time last year, worth the trip. Let me know if you are planning to attend.

I'm going to try, if I can. I've got to check the dates. Right now I'm studying for the Colorado Bar exam and there are several weekend "study sessions" I've got to go to in July. I'd love to do the ride, even if I can only go for one day.

I also have a T/bird (99) to which I recently fitted a Legend seat .... and totally agree. Looks better, far more comfortable (I used to get a numb backside after 30-40 miles, but did 150 on the new seat and still felt comfy), and best of all it is the bolt on type and far easier to get on and off than the original.

get one if you can!!

:-D

Does Triumph still sell the Legend Seat as a repair part? Just curious - might make a good alternative to a K&Q.

Thats funny, I put a TB seat on my Legend. Not only do I think it looks better, but is more comfortable than the Legend seat. Who Knew???
