Parts and prices

I just checked ebay, and couldn't help but notice a sissy bar and luggage rack currently at $280. A little farther down the page, you can buy an entire engine and transmission for $1000. Am I the only one who finds this absurd? (A new game, Triumph poker: "I'll see your 4 sissy bar/luggage racks for one engine and tranny, and raise you two saddlebag rails...")

We have desirable bikes and there isn't much supply so all of the prices have started to get absurd. In my opinion it is as simple as that.

yes, new stock accessories are now running out so thats driving the price up - solo seats going for several times the original MSRP for example. On the other hand the value of the bikes is dropping so they are more likely to be totalled by insurance companies if damaged and end up as salvage parts. I have noticed that its now MUCH easier to get used triumph parts than it was say five to eight years ago - back then you rarely saw a T3 being parted out now you have several to choose from. this of course tends to drive the price of tngs such as motors down

Just remember; an awful lot of the free advice you will get on forums is worth exactly what you paid for it. There will always be somebody trying to convince you to do something really stupid, just because they did it or want to do it.
