My new TBS (I've had it since sat) was stolen today in the Greendykes area of Edinburgh.

1998 Model - S977 UBC
Colour - Racing Yellow
Fitted with Grab rail, Centre Stand, Datatags, Datatool Alarm

If anyone sees it or knows anything please contact me on :

Andy 07718205110 or email andy@backwater.org.uk

It was not driven away but pushed so the alarm probably imobilised the bike. I have alerted local bike shops and the police

Thanks for any help

That just plain SUCKS!

What's the deal with the datatags/datatool can the police trace the bike with it?

Datatag is not a tracking device, it's just a system of marking parts of the bike with an etched on number. It makes it harder for theives to sell parts on

Sorry to hear about your bike Andy, I hope it turns up in one piece.

If the bike isn't found in the first few hours it is probably gone. Bike was pushed away so is either dumped or away in a van as the imobiliser would make it undrivable.

I am so sorry to hear your bike was stolen. There is a place for people who would do this and it's on the bottom of the boots of good people. Best of luck, I hope these scum are apprehended and your bike returned to you.

That Stinks!

Hopefully your insurance will cover the loss.?
Another stupid question; what is the availability of classic triples in the North? If limited, perhaps bike easily turns up. If plentiful, then should be easy to replace.

Great ride; keep the faith! :assim:

I've had a search round my local bike shops - in the last couple of months there have been 2 thunderbird sports and 3 thunderbirds sold by the dealers (including mine). Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any left now.

The availablility in central scotland of triples seems to be OK, there tends to be a glut of them and then none so I'll have to wait and hope.

My insurance will pay out (as the evidence is irrefutable - we have the B******s on CCTV taking the bike) but I have a £500 excess and loose my no claims so between everything I recon I will be about £1000 out of pocket between the excess, my expenses (bus travel etc) and the increase in insurance. Also the insurance won't pay out for 28 days so I'm stuck with buses until then.

I am majorly pissed off!
