Thanks Guys.

This is my 4th year with the Bird, and I'm digging the look, feel, and acceleration of her more than ever.
I've lost count of all of the mods that I've done big & small ... Headlamp relays, horn relay, 2 sets of cans (Bassani's currently installed), ZX-11 shock, handmade some dog bones for height adjustment, front fork rebuild with progressives, fan switch relay, led dash lights (blue - looks cool at night) the list goes on & on. You have to enjoy the tinkering and tweaking, then the results can make it all feel worthwhile.

Hopefully a good riding season is in the future.

Cheers, and good karma to all!

Dan

Thats a real beauty. The colors are fantastic. Very tasteful. Everything about it looks great.

Is your texavina seat one of the ones with slightly narrower seat pan or the stock seat pan? They worry me, in the pictures they appear to appear to possibly sit lower than the stock seat (or at least less foam height). On my Legend, its already cramped, and im leary of paying $270 and being even closer to the foot pegs, and regretting my purchase.

Did you special order, or just pick out one from ebay?

Hey Buddy,

Thanks for the kind words.

In regards to the seat, it was a bit of a crapshoot but I'm happy so far.
The build quality is good....all things seem to be done properly.

I initially thought the seat would put me a bit lower (which is what I was looking for) but instead I think I'm a tad higher than my stock ironing board.
The measurements are identical on length, and width, but it is about 10mm lower for the overall thickness (off the bike). But the sit is "firmer" and I guess since I sink down less, the overall effect is higher. I thought it was going ride like a 2 x 10 plank, but I was surprised as it rode quite well.
Only some longer rides will give me the final impression.

Disclaimer - "This is just my experience, different weights for the rider, and slightly different styles may be a different result" They have several styles that are similar on ebay, so look carefully if you plan to go that route.

Regarding your situation, if you like your current seat but want more height, that can be done by your local upholstery shop. The addition of padding (and your choice of materials) would be a good way to go.

I just wanted to get a bit different design, and didn't want to destroy the original as it is still in very good shape.

Hope this information helps.

Cheers!

not today, but a couple of days ago...

decided to investigate the overly rich running on the TBS.. carbs off and found the mixture screws were all at least 3 1/2 turns out!! really don't know how that happened.. set them back to 2 1/2 carbs back on and a balance and all was sweetness and light again

firstly a run out alone..
