Hot dang! Got a ZX7 shock!

I just won me a ZX7 shock on ebay for $25.00! A motorcycle salvage retailer in Kentucky was asking for a "buy it now" price of $120 so I bid a best offer price of $25 and won. The shock looks to be in good shape with no pitting on the rod. I should receive it about the middle of next week. Can't wait--my Adventurer is going to be so much more fun to ride! Now for those front fork springs....

BTW Gregp, I owe you a big thanks because it was from reading all your old posts on your ZX7 shock that I made my decision. Thanks!!

That seems to be about the going rate for them on eBay.. Have fun!

I never thought that the ZX-7 shock mod would take off like it did. I am always modifying my bikes and I like to experiment within my budget. I also like to keep all of my mods reversable, if possible, just in case things do not go well. Besides, stock bikes are almost always worth more than modified ones when it comes time to re-sell. I really like my Adventurer, though, and I do not believe that I will be selling it any time soon.
Good luck with the shock swap. It is easy to do, and your ride should be much improved.
You may want to try FZR1000 or Bandit 1200 fork springs when you are done. I found a set on E-Bay for $10.00. I had to make some custom spacers, but it was worth the effort.
Just match the "series" numbers, and look at the stock rates on the Race-Tech site to be sure you are getting the right ones.

I am hoping that I might get lucky and be able to use the shock a while before having to rebuild it. It looks pretty good in the photo. And yep, forks springs will be my next project. I think I managed to get a photo of the shock attached to this post.
