Exhaust pipe re-finishing

Has any one re-chromed, or applied another finish, on their Tbird exhaust pipes? My 95Tbird pipes do not look to bad, but I can see signs of the chrome deteriorating. Any recommendations?

It used to be that chromers would not touch used exhaust pipes, because the carbon messed up their expensive chemical vats.

The pipes are stainless steel underneath the chrome. Where the chrome scratches it causes some strange discolouration, I have the same problem.

I have even been told that stainless can't be chromed, but Triumph seemed to manage it.

ceramic coatings

I haven't tried this yet but plan to later this year. Denny says he has seen some headers done in the chromatic and they looked good.

I'll post up some pics after a few miles to see how it holds up.
