An engine loud knocking
My T-Bird started to have some issue a couple days ago. I was riding by freeway about 15 minutes and engine suddenly tried to cut out. But I accelerated the motorcycle and take exit. When RPM was about 2.000-3.000 RPM I heard a really loud engine knocking. I stopped and still heard the knocking. I switched off the engine. After 10 minutes I run engine again. Everything worked without knocking but I started to hear kinda valve noise. When I opened throttle a couple of times the knocking came back. It was reproducible from 2.000 till 3.000 RPM. But it was really load knocking. I left motorcycle on parking spot. I returned back next day to move motorcycle to dealership and checked it again. I have just heard valve noise. The Dealership car has picked up motorcycle and has left.
Next day I called to dealership to see how is going. The guys told me, everything works good except valve noise. When I checked motorcycle in dealership and tried accelerating my motorcycle and it was stalling near 2500 rpm. But over 3.000 rpm everything worked good. I don’t know what the reason of this issue.
Right now motorcycle on dealership to clean and sync carbs.
The millage: 35.000 miles. The last valve adj and carb sync was 3.000 miles ago. It looks like pilot jet cause the issue, but what was the loud knocking and valve noise.
