Angry Adventurer brake light Any thoughts?

Since upgrading my rear suspension and adding a scott oiler to the rear number plate bracket I've been having a recurrent problem with the brake light housing. Basically the Adventurer has a bracket under the rear mud guard (fender) where the brake light housing attaches to the bike, along with the number plate bracket.
The brake light it's self has three screws, each mounted on a rubber gromet, coming out of the back to screw into said bracket. The problem is that the screws keep coming out of the gromets leaving the brake light hanging loose and the screws in the rear bracket.
When this first happened I took the scott oiler off, thinking it might be adding extra weight and vibration to the rear end etc. I also replaced the brake light housing with a new part (about 3 months ago). Just before Christmas the same thing happened again (no scott oiler this time).
Having glued the housing screws back into the gromets (twice) with a waterproof epoxy, the damn thing is still coming away from the screws. In fact the best fix I've found so far is to bungee the brake light in place.
I guess what I'm asking is a) Do people think it could be caused by extra vibes from the upgraded shock? And b) without returning to the original shock, how do I stop this from happening?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be gratefully appreciated!

I have the same problem and used tie-wraps to hold mine.
It will be interesting to see if we're all alone on this.

The problem is those idiotic rubber mount screws. And they are 10 bucks apiece to replace. I took mine out and used a machine screw and nut and a rubbery spacer to replace. No more problems. I have some of the material I used for a spacer available if you would like some. It is actually a flexible coating I use at work and apply with a syringe. When it hardens in the syringe it is just the right diameter for this purpose. PM me if you want some. I now save the throwaway material when the job is done.

Adventurer Rear Light Fitting

Even Harley Davidson got it better than Triumph on their 'Bob' tails! This really is a pathetic piece of engineering and has caused untold grief all over the Planet.

My solution was to remove the lense cover and bulb holder. It will be seen, the original stupid design, that two small nuts protrude through from the rear. The small surface area these two nuts (and washers) provide is all that secures the whole assembly to the guard. The threads the two nuts fit onto are part of the rubber mounts.

Whats needed is to enlarge the contact area of the two nuts to prevent the plastic from breaking due to vibration. It will be seen that a ridge is moulded into the plastic to allow for the wires for the lamps to be grommeted through the rear. Drill two similar size holes, one on either side of the 'ridge'. Make up a piece of flat metal, I used aluminium, and drill so that the two holes on each side line up. Fit the cover and drill two more holes through the metal bracket that supports the lamp. Fit two new bolts through from the back placing a measured length of small diameter rubber hose over each to act a 'shock absorbers'. Place pre drilled metal flats over the bolts, spring washers and then the four nuts.

A bit long winded, but have had no problems for 30,000 miles, and not expecting any!
