Cool starting

I have a 95 t bird and on start up i am getting a loud metal sort of slipping noise, i have been told its the starter clutch just wanted to verify, also it does not want to start from cold with the choke.
I don`t know whats involved in replacing starter clutch any help will be much appreciated.

Unfortunately, this is exactly what it is. The 1995 was known for this defect, which was covered under warranty for the 1st two years, but no longer. It is an engine removal and teardown project. Expect it to cost $1000 - $1500 at a dealer.

Search here for "sprag clutch", and you'll find lots of info.
