KBC Helmets?

Are they any good? They seem to be pretty high quality and affordable. I just want a couple other opinions before I buy one.

Thumbs up

Hi there, we've had our VR1's for about 4 years now ( yes I know time to get new ones!) but really there no need to! They are the best helmet IMO value for money even the one with graphics $350AUD, the whole insides come out for washing purposes, a mirror and smoky grey visor is available for about $50 you can't go wrong! The VR2 is the current model here in Aussie and it's still only $359 for full graphics.....plain black, matt or shiny is only $320, the new model has perhaps slightly better venting but on closer inspection just bigger doesn't necessarily mean better. They have a good selection also of colours and graphics and hey at that price you can afford to be a bit indulgent and have a couple of 'em.... maybe to suit different bikes. Another good design feature is the quick on & off of the visor, (we have a tinted we use during the day and use the clear for evening runs) They have made it quite easy with a one touch release pin. All this, plus reasonably good fitment of the visor against the rubber surrounds keeping wind noises to a minimum. They win hands down for value in our book. Hope we've helped! Cheers

KBC helmets

Hey there regards to your choice of skidlid the KBC line of helmets are not too bad for they money outlayed etc
I have had two VR1-X helmets and have had two major offs ( both bikes written off - SV1000 n last September and NEW Sprint 1050 last week !!!! )
Both helmets certainly did the job so to speak and did seem to be what they say they should be etc
My only complaint would be the lack of weather seal and that they are a noisey lid !
As insurance covered my riding gear I opted this time round to go for the Shoei XR-1000 and after a few days riding this helmet is far worth the extra $ - ( quieter and weather proof )
Anyways hope that helps
Cheers

I was actually thinking about the Vr-1X. My current helmet is REALLY noisy so the noise level is a concern. Is the noise bearable? My ears are ringing after an hour on the freeway.

Web Bike World has some pretty good reviews on helmets. They seemed to really liked the VR-1

I have a VR-2 Mirage. The visor broke twice in no time and was replaced under warranty. Very weak system. I now have a Nolan flip top and hardly use the KBC.

I got a forceRR a few months ago and the lid fits well and is comfortable to wear but it is noisy and draughty compared to my arai rv but it doesent mist up much at all. Ive managed to quieten it down a bit by puttimg foam in the vents and around the ear recesses. its still a bit draughty but then it does have loads of vents so it's to be expected. the vents doo feel more flimsy than the arai but it's a quater of the price still are reasonable lid for the price though.
