Anyone using a 3/4 helmet?

I'm thinking of getting a 3/4 helmet for periodic use during hot weather. Whenever I've tried my old HJC half helmet, though, I've always turned around and swapped it for my full face one in about 2 minutes because the wind pulls it straight up off my head and chokes me.

Any of you 3/4 guys out there have any experience? Can you use a 3/4 helmet at speed on a Bonnie with no windshield?

3/4 helmet

I'm tried 5 or 6 different helmets and really like my new MAX 17S. The helmet is a modern styled 3/4 with an adjustible face shield. The helmet is steady at any speed and has little to no head lift. One thing I have noticed is the MAX seems to run a little small and I had to move up one size.

The MAX is DOT approved and inexpensive.

I have a Fulmer and I like it a lot, it is quite quiet and fits very well. Nothing fancy, no removable line or face shield, just your basic helmet.

3/4 helmet problems I've had,

I rode for a while with a Bell RT. Snap on face shield blew off on the freeway at 70 mph. Bought a pair of safty glasses at Lowes just to get home. Worked better than the shield anyhow sooooo, never replaced the shield. This helmet was very noisy but, did not lift at speed.

Riding one day through the orange groves which were bloomong profusely. The honeybees were doing their thing profusely also. Took four stingers in the face/head area in about 30 mins, one where the bee slid between the helmet and my temple. Couldn't get to it without stopping and removing my helmet.

I now ride with a full face modular with good ventilation in the chin, forehead and crainium. It is actually cooler than the 3/4 while in motion, but warmer when stopped, at least until I lift the chin bar.

I have a Scorpion EXO-200. It's very comfortable, fits well, and has lots of great features. I bought it for hot weather riding. I like it a lot, however if I go over 55 mph or travel at high speeds, it can be very noisy. It's great for commuting and slower speed back roads; but if I'm going on a road trip, it requires ear plugs or something. And when I go back to using my full-face HJC, I always notice how quite it seems.
