Pain in my forehead! Scorpion Exo-400 helmets!

I've owned two Scorpion Exo-400 helmets over 5 years of riding and both have caused redness and soreness on the center of my forehead at my hairline.

I don't believe im putting the helmet on incorrectly or too tight to cause this kind of soreness.

My hair is about 2.5 inches in length but it doesn't seem to be pulling my hair either.

Has anyone else has this kind of localized problem with your Exo-400?

You neeed a more oval shaped helmet (the helmet shape is to round for your head)
You might be able to pull the liner and carve out a little bit of the foam in the area that causes the red spot...you'll be amazed how much better the helmet will feel when you do...

CARVE WITH CAUTION...a little at a time goes along way (I used a razor blade and then some sand paper to smooth it all out).

Helmet manufacturers all shape their helmet differently. NEVER buy a helmet that you haven't tried on first! I use the Scorpion EXO 700 helmet. It is a oval head shaped helmet (despite what WebBikeWorld says). It has THICK padding (good for comfort, but bad in that it settles in about a size larger). I made the mistake of buying a size that fit. Due to the THICK padding it broke in to a a size larger (making it almost too loose fitting). Now the good news about Scorpion.... IF your helmet it TOO tight (or TOO loose) you can order cheap replacement helmet liners (about $28 usd). Scorpion makes 2 size helmets. One shell (small) is for size x-small to med, the large shell is for size large to xxl. So...if you have a size anywhere near cut-off, contact Scorpion at www.scorpionusa.com and explain. They will give you the correct liner (the size diff is made up with the liner alone) to fit your head. The only time a liner can not help you is if you (like me) have a size large and need a med, or have a size med and need a large (as med-large is where the shell size changes).

Thank you guys. I will try "filing" out some of the area that irritates my head.

My father has 100's of files hanging around the toolboxes as he is a aerospace assembler.

Thanks for the tip Zam. I have an HJC CL-14 and I have developed a spot on head where the helmet is too tight. I've tried different helmets; same results. I've come to the conclusion that its genetic. My head is egg shaped. I'm definetly going to try the caving thing. Thanks.
