There is a hook under the seat, which in turn locks down. I haven't used it yet though, usually just carry my helmet.

I've got a D-lock which I loop through the strap buckles and subframe, someone could cut the strap but it'd render the helmet useless

I use a lockstrap through the opening of the face shield. Someone can get through it, of course, but I like that it makes it difficult to steal with a wire cutters.

I also like the coil cable lock. It allows me to not only lock my helmet to the bike, but my jacket too.

Picked up a helmet lock at my Triumph dealer last week for $26. They offered to install for $60, literally 2 one way screws. mmm Installed myself haha. I use it because I like to leave it on bike at work. In the summer I use a cable because I also leave my jacket on bike.

I think it depends on the area. If I were to ride into boston I wouldn't even put on my saddle bags as they would be empty when I got back. But where I typically ride I leave the key in it and the helmet next to it.

I do this everyday. Just open the seat and the helmet hangs by the D-ring to the hook and is locked by the seat key lock once you lock the seat. The helmet hangs nicely by the bike and away from the hot exhaust. Really a great idea from Triumph. The only way to steal your helmet is to jimmy the lock or cut the helmet strap. Same issue with regular helmet locks, but this one is included with the bike and it's free!
