I want to buy a KBC FFR modular helmet. I have tried a borrowed medium and it fits great, except that the cheek pads are way too tight. Cheek pad sets only cost about $12. I am trying to find out if the difference between a medium helmet and a large helmet by KBC is just the pad sets. In that case, I think that I can buy a medium and install a large cheek pad set and get more room in that part of the helmet. Is that correct. The rest of the fit is great and no buffeting and it does not move around on my head.

KBC medium and large helmets use the same shell mold and change the lining so your thinking is spot on.
