Quitest Helmet

After installing the Dart Screen on my Bonnie I developed a horrible buffeting problem with my helmet. Anything above 68mph is almost unbearable to ride. I have tried changing the angle of the screen with little or no change. As I am not too in love with my helmet (HJC AC-10) I am going to try a new helmet to solve the issue. Any suggestions on helmet that doesn't buffet badly.

BTW: I'm 5'10" if that makes a diff.

I have 2 helmets a Fuller flip up helmet, I gt a lot of wind noise with it and only use it around town. My other helmet is a Icon, a little tight on the cheeks, but very little wind noise. Hope this helps.

Schuberth claim that their S1 is the quietest helmet in the world, I've got one and I reckon they are right, I have had lots of buffeting problems after buying a 955 daytona, changed screens etc, the S1 is a BRILLIANT helmet, VERY qiuiet and very stable at speed, i have riden at 140mph with it and its great with very little up lift. I have 5 lids, Schuberth s1,R1 C2 a shoei raid 2 and an arai RX7, the s1 tops the lot for quiet enviroment, buy a tight fit because the cheek pads give a little after a few weeks and are not changeble for different sizes like the arai and shoei's

Good Luck

Just checked out the Schuberth site - man, those helmets look innovative as heck. The C2 caught my eye, a full face that retracts so there's no need to shoehorn it onto your head. The sun visor feature is a great advantage also. I'll have to try one sometime.

This is one of those give and take issues. The helmets that flow the most air (coolest) tend to be the loudest. The best compromise I have found is in the Shoei line of RF-1000 and X-11 helmets. They flow a lot of air, but are relatively quiet. I have found that helmets that have side pieces that cover the visor clips also add to the noise substantially, but the trade off here is in the graphics patterns - talking about Suomy Spec 1Rs here. Flip ups will be one of the loudest just due to the joints. I agree with the Schuberth claim about quietness, but their venting system leaves aaaaaaaalotttttttt to be desired - I briefly had an R1 which was a very comfortable nice fitting helmet, but the vents might as well not have been there. It has to do with the way the scoops put air through the shell.
