I have also been very happy with an RF1000. It doesn't leak, and with earplugs, it is plenty quiet.

I tried on a Scorpion EXO 400 at the Dealers today. They did not have the 700 in stock. I also found that Scorpion is releasing some new features this fall. It was a pretty comfortable fit, I wore it around the shop for about 20 minutes. Still need to make it to an Arai dealer and try those on. But the Scorpion fits me much better than the Shoei's

Add another Scorpion EXO-700 fan to your list. It has something very much in common with Triumphs, 'There are more expensive units out there but you won't find another product on the market that gives you as much bang for your buck.'
Perfect fit, low wind noise, vents that actualy work, all for $169.00

Hey Denny,

I like Shawn have a Shoei RF-1000 and I love it. Definitely try on the Arai though as they are supposed to be great too. It all comes down to what type of head shape you have and what fits best. My buddy has the Scorpion 700 and loves it for the record.

Denny,

It's also important to note word has it that the new EXO 1000 with the internal visor won't be available until Febuary 08.

See you tomorrow night,

Brian

The wait on the EXO-1000 is killing me. I've been wanting a new helmet for a while and love the fit of the EXO-400, but the 700 just doesn't work for me. I've been looking forward to seeing the 1000 in person all summer, but the date just keeps getting pushed back! Hopefully good things will come to those who wait...

Helmets
My RF1000 is very comfortable. I did notice a lot of road noise and determined the stock cheek pads to be too thick/dense for my square or block jaw....lol!!!! With a thinner set of cheek pads installed, the rest of the fit no longer distorted allowing the helmet to better seal off. It is now much more quiet with it being much more comfortable as well (still wear ear plugs for long trips). Being stubborn and on a roadie without a whole lot of dealer options along the way I tried to mash the stockers down at night by taking the cheek pads out and setting a motel room chair leg on them while I slept. Kinda worked......needed thinner pads. Got 'em. Very happy. No leaks, very comfortable. Excellent product.

that's interesting, the parts guy at the dealership seemed to think the fit would be much the same. I guess I'll have to look further to try on the 700 also.

Well this season is almost over so I guess waiting to February will not be too painful for me. i've lived with the SY-Max for about 4 years so a few months won't be so bad, especially when the snow starts flying.

Yep, I know the fit is certainly the most important thing, but Quiet and dry also rank up there pretty high on the list for me also.

I appreciate the input on this, it's very helpful
