Full face w/ Glasses

I wear glasses and have an old Shoei RF200 that works great but needs replacement. I bought a Shark - nice helmet but definitely not designed for "4 eyes". Have not seen any modulars other than the big $ Shoei that I have any interest in. Would like to stay w/ a full face - any feedback?

Reserve,

I have a Nolan N102. I like it very much. It has full-face features w/ the hassle free utility of an open face helmet. Pretty good ventilation, reasonably cool for Georgia's 100+ temps, and relativey low (wind) noise level.

No need to take off glasses to don or doff the lid.

Full face helmet with glasses

I wear a Schuberth Concept flip-up for in-town and an Arai Quantum for the highway. Glasses go on after the helmet goes on (both), and glasses come off before the helmet comes off (Arai). The glasses take a bit more fiddling to get on with the Arai. I plan to get some frames that are straighter @ the ears to make gearing-up easier.

I also have a Nolan N102 and it is 100% better than the Fulmer I had. I put my glasses on after I put the helmet on Even with my Nolan N30 Retro with face shield I put the helmet on first.

If you'd like to stay with a full face, definitely stick with a full face. The kind of glasses you have makes a big difference. I've never had a problem with my thin wire framed glasses in my HJC AC-11. I've also had an AC-12 which was fine.

The key is going to be trying on a few different models - how glasses work with a helmet is just another aspect of the overall fit. You can do this the honest way, and actually buy from a local shop, or sneak in and try a bunch of helmets and order the one you like off the internet.

I wear moderately sized wireframes, and have no problems with my Scorpion EXO 700.

It's adequately tight around the temples, holds the glasses nice and tight, plenty of room behing the visor.

just $.02

I have recently had a Shoei X-11, Arai RX-7 and Suomy Spec 1R Extreme. I don't wear glasses, but have worn sunglasses with all three models and have never had an issue with the exception that the Suomy fits so well that after a few hours the back of the ear piece does tend to irritate the back of my ear.

+ 1 for the HJC I have a CL-15 and wear my sunglasses all the time, that way I can ride with the shield up when it's hot.

Personally I do not wear glasses, but I did see this article about modifying them to fit helmets..... just an idea.
