I got a new Arai in the beginning of May just after two days i had to take it back to the dealer as the rubber on the sides started to come off...The dealer sent it back to Arai to be fixed....It came back all scratched on the sides and a F...big scratch on the top as well...I am still waiting for it to come back....
The dealer is a Honda dealer so he tells me that it is it is Honda who are taking care of the problem
I want my money back or a new Helmet...
This is my first Arai i will not be getting one again!
What other Helmets are any Good?I like the AGV i had one before very good.

I tried every helmet out there when I got my bike. The best one I've found is the Shoei RF-1000. Max comfort, good noise reduction and very light...

I tried Arais in the past. They just don't fit my head right...

Your prime consideration should be the fit and comfort of a Snell rated helmet. The fit is the most important decision you can make for the well being of your head. It will thank you for it.

Well it has come back at last!!!!!but they say that they are not responsible for the scratches on the helmet....
So i am going to write a letter to them telling them what i think and that i am going to find a different brand...and i told the dealer that i do not want this helmet in this condition!
Its not the dealers fault he is quite good but NO WAY am i paying for a new helmet all scratched!!!!!!
I am going back to AGV! Nolan's eh mm have to try them i think...
The dealer has told me that he is going to drop Aria as there after sales service is not up to standards....
I am going to see what my Triumph dealer has for sale in helmets....but each time i go there i go away with more than i need :-D

Sport Rider or Motorcyclist has a great article on helmets. Search their web sites on it. More on the standards and considerations than the helmet models themselves (it is dated a bit by now in term of models). Mostly the issues are what the standards say about how it might help you most and on good fitting. You might also consider whether you will want to wear headphones or mount speakers/mic in it.

Brand is less important than fit and long term comfort. Keep trying helmets until you find one that fits right. Choose the graphics afterward. I have a "long oval" head shape. Arai Signet and Vector fit me very well, The Arai Profile, while a replacement for the Signet does not fit me so well. I wore a Shoei back in the 80s, but they no longer fit me well enough...my head isn't round enough for them. I've tried Icon and HJC, but I find the linings too scratchy/itchy.

I'd be less concerned about Snell rating. Motorcyclist Magazine blew the whistle on Snell pretty good back in June 2005 (I recall). It's comfort that will ultimately matter. You need to wear the thing for it to protect you after all.
