Just got a back up helmet by HJC. Nice but has a massive sticker on the front that looks like an advertisement. I was considering heating the sticker with a hair dryer and the removing the sticker. Then using goo gone to remove sticky residue. Will goo gone damage the helmet surface? Thanks.

I just peeled mine off and then used WD40 to remove glue. No damage. Not sure about that stuff.

Try automotive tar and bug remover, it shouldn't harm your helmet or the finish and it'll get the sticky residue off with just a little scubbing. I use the Turtle Wax brand, but there are tons of different ones.

The Goo Gone is a bit strong, and can sometimes remove or fog up the clearcoat over the paint. Stay away from nailpolish remover as well.

the hair dryer and a fingernail work fine. As posted, the WD-40 is great.

If you get an edge going, you should be able to zip the forehead monstrocity right off of there. Same goes for the other little strip stickers that HJC puts along the helmet collar indicating the model number and such.

If it leaves any adhesive behind, use the sticker in a dabbing motion to remove.

I forgot to mention that charcoal lighter fluid from the supermarket is pretty much the same thing as Ronsons, but a lot cheaper. I just used a bit of it to remove sticker goo from a vehicle my brother picked up.

I just peeled off the HJC stickers from my two HJC helmets, no problem. Some cleanup with WD40 finished the job. They look much better.
