I'm looking to buy a new helmet but want something that is really streamline, skinny, and lite weight What are you guys using?
I'm looking for a Half Helmet, flat black in color.
These are the only ones i've seen so far that look promising...

This is funny... and I'm not making this up. As I was reading your post while eating my lunch, the mailroom guy delivered my new helmet!
I'm afraid I can't help you much with the half helmet, as I too am a full face guy. I had been shopping to replace my Arai Quantum for the past couple of months and did consider a half helmet for awhile. But I stumbled on some pretty gruesome photos of guys in accidents ( www.urbanmoto.com) and quickly went back to full face.
What I can share from my experience is you really need to try these on. Most helmets meet DOT or better standards these days, so fit and features should drive your decision. The Suomy Vandal came out tops for me. Great fit, light weight, cool graphics, and good ventilation.
Ride safe.
Roger

Most major manufacturers have half-helmets in their lineup. On the price/quality equation, I've had good luck with HJC helmets. The most important thing is fit - buying on the internet is pretty chancy - an uncomfortable helmet will ruin any ride pretty fast.
Everyone's got their own preferences, and I beleive in people's right to make their own choices. I think people should be able to ride with any ***** thing they want on their head, although I do think anyone riding without a helmet probably doesn't have much to lose in the event of head trauma. That said, 71% of head impacts in accidents happen in areas that are covered by a full-face, but not by a half helmet. Odds improve if you wear an old-school Evel Kenevel style helmet that covers your ears, but 40-odd percent of impact happen on your face! My face may not win any awards, but I'm fond of it; it's the only one I've got. So I wear a full face.
And now I'm done preaching.

Rustbucket is ugly, yes. All the more reason to cover it up with a helmet that is full in the face. I must agree with Mr. Rustbooty, if you do have a get off best be protected. I wear a cup when I ride, would hate to get road rash on the business.

Caught the indigo hornet down the back collar of my leather coat. By the time I got stopped and got the jacket off, the hornet was dead. . One of by buds counted 27 stings from my shoulder blades to my belt line They thought it was very funny. This happened on highway 49 (California) between Downeyville and Sierraville at 40 mph. 1970 was the year and I remember it just like yesterday .
Steve, gears and all things mechanical
PS: I use full face helmuts. I know that they are not cool, but they sure hide the ugly.

Thanks for the input on the full face vs the half helmets, i'm considering going full face but still leaning towards the half (this may change if i have a close call or if my gf has anything to say about it!).
Thanks for the links IDJK, the DOT approved helmets on www.carbonfiberhelmets.com look like the most streamline thus far.

The protection of a full face helmet is so superior to all others. Do yourself a favor and get one. There have been photos posted here of a full face helmet in a wreck. Look at them. I'm sorry I don't have the link. Just look at the pix and think about it. Ride safe and be well. All the gear, all the time. :hammer:
