Years ago, I bought a helmet, and saw a quick-release device near the bottom of the page. I ordered it and was immediately delighted. It has a metal-to-metal connection for safety, and it sure is easier to press each side of the device to remove your helmet, or just click it together instead of buckling.

I recently acquired another helmet and have been looking for a quick release, but to no avail. The company I originally dealt with no longer carries them, and the company I bought from has never carried the devices. I have checked several sources without any luck. Do any of you know where I can get one?

My Caberg has a push button release latch system instead of the Drings. I'll never go back to Drings. I've not seen an add on product for it, but I'd bet it is out there. Did you try Aerostich?

They're definitely out there. Personally, they make me nervous - it I ever need my helmet, I want to be ***** sure it there! IMHO, the d-rings are safer - I wouldn't want to add an extra link in that particular chain.

For convenience sake, the best way to deal with the d-rings is to not unbuckle the helmet all the way when you take it off. I just loosen the chin strap to the point that I can pull it forward over my chin (and nose!) and pull the helmet off. No fumbling with the straps when it goes back on, just cinch it tight, tuck the excess strap up and go.

Because everyone needs a quick release... Try the one from Echo. It was about $8.00

Echo Quick Release

This worked great on my wife's old HJC, but for some reason I couldn't make it fit my Bell.
Good luck!

It's standard on most helmets in Europe (I am lead to believe). Had one on a helmet years ago. Worked well (though jaw palcement has to work for the strap lengths).

They are on ebay. Cheap, easy to install. Just look under motorcycle helmets and you will find them.

I put the Echo on each of my last three helmets. It is the only way to secure a helmet AFTER you put your gloves on. Works great.

Thanks for the input. Just before I was ready to order, I made a trip to 29 Dreams Motorcycle Resort between Leeds and Vincent, Alabama. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, but I always visit the gear shop. Lo and behold, there were the Echo quick-release devices in a variety of colors and for about six bucks.

Thanks again for the info.
