I've used the Nolan 100E for the past four years and recently bought the AGV Miglia.

Here are my observations:
* The AGV large is an excellent fit on me, the Nolan large was too small and the XL was a little loose but OK.
* The AGV locks very solidly and securely - really nice. The Nolan locking system is not as good nor as solid as the AGV IMHO.
* Both helmets use proprietary chin strap fasteners instead of D-rings. Whilst the AGV's is OK, the Nolan's is considerably better.
* Subjectively, the AGV is quieter but I always wear ear plugs anyway.
* You can obtain replacement parts and differently sized top/cheek pads for the AGV online - excellent!
* You can crack the visor on the Nolan just a fraction and a detente will hold it there. The AGV's first detente is about an inch open

The Nolan was a good helmet and served me well. But so far, I am very pleased with the AGV and I prefer it.

I also have a HJC Symax. This will be my sixth season with it. It does has a little fogging issue but I've learned to deal with that.
I have also been considering a new lid. Have been looking at the Caberg, the Nolan 102, or the Shoei Mutitec.
I'd buy another SyMax if they just offered it in flat black.
So whats a body to do?

Chose a Symax over the Nolan for a few reasons:
Better fit for the same size. Couldn't believe the huge difference.
Better price.
Can't come to grips with the Nolan sunshield. Great idea but must add a lot of drag at speed at night or on overcast days when you don't need it. Too much strain on the neck over a long time.
Wind noise is a problem with the HJC over 120 km/h but the ipod shuffle fixes that if you have it loud!!!!!
Either way love the fact that I can have an open face when crusing and full face when going hard. Flip tops rule!!!

I saw a Caberg Trip on ebay - looked like a nice helmet with some good features, and they only list for about 89 GBP as far as I can tell. Unfortunately, they're not available in the US at this time so can't try on. Flip-ups seem to run snug as a rule, though, although the HJC was true to size (for me). I have a daughter in London so I may ask her to look into a Caberg for me. Anyone know of a place that offers good discounts over there?

The trip will not be available in the USA.. It is being produced under license from Caberg, but is not made by them.

I tried to track down more USA info for what Caberg is going to offer, but finding that out is dern hard.. .there is a "new line" on the way fro the US market but the helmets won't be here until August.. errr... anywho.. A trip style helmet does not appear to be on the plate for the US market.

I was goign to buy a Trip for my GF, as it has the double visors, but I could not find out if the Trip uses metal catches on the flip mechanism, so I opted for a Justissimo, from the UK of all places... bought it used on ebay for $55Uk..

That Trip is a good looking helmet but ummm... is that the release catch on the outside? If so and you do a face plant, isn't it possible that it will release?

Took my new Noland N102 for its first test run yesterday afternoon. Compared to my Fulmer I believe I will not need ear plugs. It was very windy and the sun shade did not so far pose a drag problem. It is a tighter fit than my Fulmer and had to bend the ear pieces on my glasses to fit over my ears. Like the retention system much easer to get on and off with my arthritic fingers :-D
The only problem I have is trying to get the visor off to put on the fog resistant system :hammer: Sun visor comes off easily.

Bought the KBC FF at Cycle Gear...$230.00. Like the fit and finish, metal latch ala Nolan. Noise is horrific, but I heard other modular users complain of the same. The wife sez I look like a power ranger, guess that futuristic look caught her attention.

I'm going to have my daughter in London pick up a Caberg Trip and send it to me. They look good and the price isn't bad. Thing is, I won't be able to try one on beforehand, so if anyone out there is using one could you tell me how it fits relative to Arai or Shoei? I always take a large in these, but I'm thinking XL in the Caberg because it seems that a lot of the flip-ups fit a bit tighter than ordinary helmets.
