Ultimately, your personal safety and comfort are the only thing that matters.
I can tell you what worked best for me in terms of safety, comfort, performance and style. I just purchased a 2012 SE in Diablo Red. The Shoei RF-1100 Helmet in Monza Red was a
perfect match. Apparently, Monza & Diablo are the same shade of red in the motorcycle world. And the RF-1100 is the most comfortable, lightweight, and cost-effective Shoei out there. I love Arai's- but who can drop $800 per helmet (unless you're exclusively at the track)?
Incidentally, Shoei makes a gorgeous RF-1100 helmet in pink and black and white with sweet graphics. It's called "Corazon TC-7" and you can check it out on Shoe's website, linked below. They also make a pink and black helmet with nice graphics called the "Sylvan TC-7" (also on the website).

My Monza Red Shoei, paired with my (also just purchased to match the bike) Triumph H2Sport Leather jacket, combines to make jacket, helmet, bike and rider look very clean, professional and highly stylized.

Wearing helmet, jacket and mounted on matching bike, I get looks EVERYWHERE I go because the combination is so spot-on and succinct. Seriously, there has never once been a time where I have taken the bike out and [I]not[I] had people in cars or trucks next to me at stoplights, stare, smile, give a thumbs up, shout, "Badass bike! What is that?!" out the window, etc. And there has
never been a time when I have been out where, upon parking in a restaurant or diner lot, I don't re-emerge after eating to find a small group standing around admiring the bike, or approaching me as I am mounting or dismounting to say something about its looks.
Now, I know that all sounds very self-righteous and very self-centered. But let's all be honest- who amongst us has purchased the bikes we own and ride ONLY for the performance? No one. We all want to look good, and, we like the looks we get on our Speedies. It justifies the ******ned $15k we've poured into the things! People better freaking look for $15k!
Anyway, it just so happens that the Speedy is the best looking sport bike/street bike/streetfighter/touring bike/whatever else you use your S3 for because it is so damn versatile/commuter bike/track bike EVER made. And, you know, if you ever put that pink S3 up for sale, you'll fetch a handsome price for something so sweetly customized.
