Open Face Helmet
Now I'm getting an open face helmet and wondered how much wind burn, sun burn you get and what you can do to minimise it. I'm getting goggles to go with the helmet, would appreciate recommendations on what are the best goggles you think I should use. The helmet will be a Davida Jet.
Please no comments that I should have a full face, etc etc. I have weighed up the pros and cons and I am an adult and as such have made my own decession. I have a full face but also want to use an open face on different occasions. This wasn't ment to sound rude just don't want people to waste their time.
Many thanks.

Rose the Davida site has a good list of goggles - I got the Aviators and they have just launched smaller ones that fit the Jet, so your timing is good. If you want more retro stuff, try Holden who do helmets, jackets, retro goggles you name it, plus Belstaff gloves!

I ride with either a half helmet (hot weather) or 3/4 open face (all other times). For goggles, I regularly buy replacement cheap-o plastic ones that can be commonly found at pretty much any bike accessory shop. For some reason, I've never been able to bring myself to splurge on expensive goggles.
For sun protection, I often forget to apply the spray-on sunblock I keep in one of my saddlebags, and get burned on my nose and sometimes chin as a result. :-)
For wind protection in cooler weather, I wear a Triumph-branded "buff" that I bought at my dealer - I've never seen them sold elsewhere, but they're a great idea. Instead of a scarf, it's basically a cylindrical tube made of a lightweight material that you can breathe through but that offers pretty decent warmth. You can wear it like a scarf, pull it up over the mouth/nose if need be, or even stretch it to wear like a balaclava for maximum warmth.
Enjoy the Davida...been wanting one for a long time.
Jeff

The helmet is going to have the press studs fitted so if I want a peak or a face shield or flip front at a later date I can add to it. I like the versatilty of it to be honest.
I've already got holden down as a favourite along with Halcyon. I do like the aviator style at davida and was going to go for mirrored blue.
I'm off to get fitted tomorrow and have the paint codes for the bonneville so I can get them to paint it in the colours to match. I've also seen the design I'm going to get them to do. There is a place an hour and a half away, so I'm going up there tommorrow to get measured up and then they will do the rest for me.
The Belstaff Jacket will be getting around September time, in the light beige waxed cotton.

halcyon
I use the davida helmet with halcyon goggles- I like the stainless silver look and I always forget to use sunscreen but also have the buttons and carry a shield for the heavier wind-
thinking of a belstaff jacket-

Id say if the shark even slightly can change your mind then you might wanna go that way- or even a nolan n-102- they are so so so far different from davida it isnt even the same animal- but again you get protection galore at around 400 usd

A nice bandanna or silk scarf might also help with both things, especially wind burn.

Davida with goggles
Rose,
I regularly wear a Davida with Nannini Crusier goggles. (Chrome with black leather) My Davida is a gloss black Jet with a silver center stripe. Additionally, I use a rounded (see thru) black visor in place of sun shades.
Mostly I commute but if I get caught riding into the afternoon sun I use sunscreen on my nose and cheeks. Usually get burnt anyway.
I don't associate windburn with the Davida and goggles but more so with the AGV Dragon helmet I wear sometimes.
RE goggles vs flip shield:
Goggles are sightly more trouble to put on and take off.
Goggles are better when using a low wind screen.
Goggle fog when transitioning into rain.
I still prefer the goggles and my Davida and wear them most of the time. (80-90%)
Good luck
MIke
