What Helmet?

I am going to purchase a new helmet this spring. I was wondering what everyones wears, why and how quiet it is.
Thanks
Mark

It fits a bit snug but, it works. I'll get another soon.
Here's a link for some info about helmets.

Seems pricewise $100 to $200 will get you a nice "Brain Bucket".
If you hit the dealer right, they might be changing product lines and you can a nice helmet for a good price. Don't buy used and like with ALL gear try it on and make sure it fits properly. For helmets that means good periphal vision, and when you move your head quickly the the helmet moves the same amount too. It should be a tad tight at first but, that is temporary as the helmet fits to you. Like a good pair of shoes.

After two Nolan flip ups, i went with a Shoei RF-1000 and love it.

I wear a shoei RF1000 - I like it a lot. Very comfy, and I can wear it all day. Doesn't seem especially noisy to me.

Might be worth checking out the helmet forum - I will slide this thread over there at some point.

Try a lot of them on and buy what fits and feels the best.

I'm in the same boat and will most likely be going with a Scorpion this spring. For whatever reason, I don't find myself gravitating toward their helmets like an Arai or a Nolan, but they make such a good case for themselves. Some of the features I like are the fog-resistant shields, removable padding, quick release shields, and optional chin/neck skirts. And these are standard on even their low-end models! Dollar-for-dollar you'd be hard pressed to find a better helmet.

Scorpion for the win.

webbikeworld.com has reviews of a good selection of helmets. One thing I found real useful was they have the shape in their review.

2nd season with a Scorpion EXO 700. Love it, fits great, ventilates very well and for as good as it DOES ventilate, it's pretty quiet. For the money I think their products are some of the best values on the market.

Thumbs up

Bell Star. Ultimate venting, very lightweight and low low drag on your head when cruising at speed. It is a little noisy though.

I've been eyeing a Shoei Multitec.
It seems great for glasses wearers.
