Wow, you probably wouldn't enjoy being around me then. I don't do wheelies, but do go fast on a plastic-wrapped bike wearing expensive gear.

There are a few Harley riders that can't get past the attitude, but most will either participate or initiate conversations with me. Initially I thought it because of the bike I was riding, but people can generally tell when you're the type of person that will be easy to talk to.

The same goes for the younger crowd, which is a growing number of riders these days

In any case, consider being less concerned about what others buy and ride and just enjoy yourself. If a immature individual wants to buy the latest R1/Gixxer/CBR and die young doing something stupid, that is their choice. All we can do is share how great it is to ride safe for as long as you can.

The same goes for appearances or customization. If someone wants to do outlandish modifications on their bike at a cost that may be beyond their means, I'd say more power to em! As long as they are happy with their decision.

Hope this helps.

For sure, the phrases 'each to their own' and 'whatever floats your boat' are quite dear to me

Political Correctness my 2 cents
There is a problem with a site that has little to no rules. Soon everything on the site becomes one bunch of insults. Seeing as I also own a Beemer I visit Chromeheads. The moderators there are parallel to the ones here, and eventually a few individuals were banned from the site. They went off on their own to make another website where 1/2 of the posts are about trashing the modeators on the other site. How lame is that? The vast majority of posts are just drivil drool insults to other long time members very clickish with little substance. Where as Chromeheads has a well organized site, good technical articles and informatiom much like this site. My favorite site is AV Riders. As long as the moderators apply the standards across the board fairly as a visitor you either follow them or leave and start your own site.

That is just an example though, being civilized triumph owners im sure none of us would stoop to that level. The problem is, and no offense to anyone who reads this, is that common sense seems to be a dying trade, that is not just related to a web forum, but modern society in general. Live and let live is a great attitude to have, as long as it doesn't go too far the other way and end up with people being afraid to have an opinion.

I am very sorry if I sound like a bitter and twisted old man, being only 24 years old, but the way the UK and the rest of bureaucracy driven Europe is being run at the moment it just makes me angry sometimes. But anyway....back to making the most of my motorbike before the worlds supply of petrol runs out and/or before we get priced out of the market! Hmmm pondering whether to get some Ikon shocks...

Your point is well taken, I have to agree with you that is the line becomes fuzzy between PC and Opinion. The question is which one trumps which? It appears from your post that you feel opinion should trump PC. Correct? I have to say that I do believe opinion trumps PC. 1/2 the time PC changes from country to country even city to city. IN New York City honking your horn at another driver is the norm. When I lived a few years back In San Francisco honking your horn at another drive with the exception of friend or to avoid an accident was considered improper.
