I want to post a picture, but my settings are for max 800 wide, max 0 tall, and I cannot figure out how to change the settings.

What am I missing?

What settings are you talking about? On the site? Or in an upload picture storing site? A little more detail and we'll try to figure it out together. I'll check back shortly.

As I type this now, on reply to thread page, if I try to attach a file under manage attachments, the image sizes all have zero as height, and will not let me attach a pic.

What am I missing?

The size limits are in kb, no more than 488 kb, not in height. There is no set limit in height, just no wider than 800 pixels wide. That is for uploading into the site directly from your computer. So an 800 x 600 size should upload OK.

A much easier way to handle pictures so you don't have to go through uploading each separate pic is to set up an account at a place like photobucket.com, its free, and upload as many pics as you want. When you have a pic there you will find a list of various identifiers by each pic. You can simply click on the IMG, image, URL identifier, right click it to copy that and then paste it directly into your post using the "insert image" icon at the top of the message window. Those images are not limited as to size but really large images are discouraged.

For now, try an 800x600 image and see if it will upload OK.
