Alot of modifications/repair/upgrades do apply though. I origianlly looked at bonnevilles and decided (happily) on the Speedmaster because I am a cruiser guy. The bikes are essentailly the same. A speedmaster or america is essentialy a chopped bonneville. While I would like to have a forum of "cruisers only" it's not a big deal to look throught the bonneville stuff. You might even get some good ideas from those guys.

The point I am trying to make is evident in this post. Everyone who has posted has their bike showing under their name except doublel and bo2s4. If the bike type is shown then it is easy to skip the bonnie post on seat bolts missing but still use the leaky valve cover post common to all twins. I find a lot of common info on bonnie/cruisers such as brakes, chains, carbs, etc. to be helpful. Whatever.

I agree whole-heartedly. I can over look the flaws of the bonnevilles.

Favorite Bike!
I have taken the recommendation and have hopefully added my "favorite bike" to my log in! If it doesn't show up with this post, I will fix - for the record, it is a 2006 Triumph America, mulberry red/silver. If I can ever fix my avator, I will plug in the picture there!

2 thoughts:

1) separate as the Haynes repair manual (Bonnies, SM, TBA are in one book)

2) separate as Triumph has them.

either way, I try to read what I can (but as everyone knows, I have a handicap in reading)

For example... i just lowered my speedmaster by 1.5 inches, and to my chagrin I learned the BuB exhaust now scrapes on moderate turns. Anyone seen exhaust that doesn't megaphone, but is straight? I plan on making them myself but...I don't know if a bonneville owner would have any idea about it as it doesn't concern them.
