No, that would be oversimplifying. I was looking for two different technical forums. A Bonnie/Thrux/Scrambler technical forum and a Speedmaster/America technical forum. The "Twins Hangout" could remain combined as is.

As I stated in my opening line, I'm fairly new here. So I'm not aware of the specific "friction" issues you've had, although I have noticed the Triumph rider community seems rife with rivalry between owners of certain models. I don't want to propagate that. A combined hangout is a step toward unification. But do the cruiser folks really want to read the never ending wire wheel / spoke threads? And I believe mods and accessories differ considerably as well between the cruisers & the other twins. There are logical reasons why the technical forums should be split IMHO.

fwiw, pauljo is more eloquently describing what i didn't do very well. i think the combined twins "hang-out" is great and it more the technical/accessory diffs that i think may warrant unique bonnie/thrux/scram and america/speedy tech forums. . .

edit: and, having only been here a few months, i didn't realize there were any hostility issues either.

edit #2: also let me go on record saying thank you for the Twins Documentation Library

There is much too be gained with the present arrangement. I rarely went to the Bonny site before and thus only heard from a regular group of writers. Now it is a much more varied group, more opinions and even more fun. I am enjoying the revived banter.

Thing was, when the cruiser tech posts were separate from the rest of the twins tech posts, it didn't look to me as if there was really enough "business" in either to justify them being separate. So we ride on different styles of wheels...so what?

Technically speaking, due to the Scrambler's 270* engine, why would you want to place it in the wrong tech forum? Because it looks like a bonnie IMO, more tech related questions get answered in the forums current form, due to the abundent "technical" similarities of the twins.
