Forwarding Link to PM - Open in New Window
When the pop-up for PM notofication comes up (if that has been selected in preferences) there is a prompt to ask if 'open in new window':
The link re-directs to TriumphRat.net home page however, where you have to still open the link to the PM's from the left menu.
Could you possibly re-direct the link directly to http://www.triumphrat.net/private.php ?

I usually don't have that feature enabled, but turned it on to test and had one of the other Moderators send me a PM; and it worked for me.

However, I'm using FireFox and turned off Pop-Up Blocking before doing the test.

Does this help?

Other Motorcycle: I wish!
FYI,

It works for me too and always has as it seems.

I am using Safari V3 now but not seen any difference on Firefox, Opera or IE on either Mac or PC

Hmmm - strange
In IE (7) - at least for me - it just redirects to the home page - I have pop-ups allowed from TriumphRat.net.
There's no blocking of the pop-up, it does indeed bring up a new window, just the home page, not the message box.
Don't think it's a browser thing - on my car forum, also using VB, it works fine.

I see it does the same thing on IE6 also on my laptop system.
I caught briefly as the new window opened it initially had a different address in the URL bar (presumably to the message) but that is quickly replaced by the home page address which is what loads.

I think it does that (switches to home page) if it can't find the specifc address on the site - I noticed that similar phenomenon with 'old' links to threads before the upgrade. The threads are still there but they have a different physical address now.

I have IE7, it works correctly for me, when the PM Notification pop-up comes on I click 'OK' and it then asks me if I want to open a new window and I click OK and it takes me straight to the PM.

I have pop-ups enabled for Tratnet.

Since posting my last post saying that it works for me, since yday it's stopped working and reverts to the problem Decosse first brought up, switching to the Home Page.

That's on the last 7 PM's I've received and the pop-up PM came up on BHO home page thread and on BHO post pages.

p.s. Just got another one this second one on this page, same problem.

p.p.s. Got one more but this time is was ok, I was on the Member List page when the pop-up came.

I know what the issue is.

The problem arises when their is a particular "mix" of text and html formatting code. In certain conditions, it can create an invalid URL link the Javascript that is part of the Private Message Pop-Up system - which then directs the user to the Home Page (because the URL is invalid).

For now, the problem is going to persist until a small bit of code is re-written. I don't have a timeline yet, but will post as soon as I'm ready to apply the change.

Thanks for the info Shawn, glad you found the problem, we'll live with it. Most times I cancel out the pop-up if I'm busy on a forum and go to the PM link a bit later when I have time. Wombat and I pass them back and forward like yoyo's.
