As you a can see form this post my avatar works fine... I uploaded my 80x80 pixel image from the User CP and it is working for me...
Are you using the upload feature for avatars in the User CP area?
What is the size and format of the image you are trying to use?

I didn;t see that... Sorry... I know it is in the works. Shawn is still monitoring the site for potewntial issues, and from what I hear , he still works a more than full time job... Of course he could choose to go all paid membership and then he could work on it all the time, only there'd be no onw to work for... ( this is just a joke... )
One other thing I noticed with respect to thread subscription Shawn
The master default is to subscribe you to a thread that you post to - I think it makes more sense to turn this off & make default not subscribed, but to have you opt in as opposed to out (actually you can't opt out of subscribing when you create your post, only afterwards)
(this is the same thing that happened with another forum's update to this version - seems to be much more practical as I've described above)
