Can you stretch leather?

I need to stretch the middle and pointer fingers of my new gloves as they are the only fingers that become too tight when gripping the bars.

They didn't feel painful when I tried them on, but after riding for 8hrs this past Friday the tips of my fingers on both hands ( middle and pointer ) are red and sore.

Can leather be stretched just a bit to allow me more room to make a fist or should I just go buy new gloves?

Kiwi shoe polishes did make a product for tight shoes. You sprayed it on the shoe, and then wore them. The leather would dry to fit. Try a search for their products.

My leather gloves stretched a little bit over time, but it sounds like the ones you got are just too small.

Soak them down real good, then use saddle soap on them and wear for a while to break in. Once they feel right, use mink oil to restore the leather and to make waterproof again. This has worked for me on both gloves and boots.

Umm yea... couple questions...

What is saddle soap and where do I get it?

What is mink oil and where do I get it?

Thanks,

Kory

Sorry, Kiwi makes versions of both. I started using them for my boots while I was in the Army, and then started using them on other leather items.
Both are cheap, and can be found at most major grocery stores.

I had some long sockets (yep, as in wrenches) and I inserted them into the fingers. They were a little larger than my fingers. I wet the leather and they did stretch a little. It beats doing it manually.
