High end gloves, which ones?

Hey everybody, I am looking to get my license this month and am of the ATGAT belief. I am trying to decide which gloves to get. I want full gauntlet gloves with metal knuckle protection(I saw a picture of a pair with carbon fiber knuckles after a crash and the knuckle protection was chewed through pretty badly). I also want to have good wrist protection as I have heard multiple cases where a wrist injury could have been prevented. I am curious as to everyone else's opinion on the pinky finger being connected to the ring finger, sounds like a good idea to me, but I have no experience. So far the gloves I am looking at are the Dainese Full Metal Pro and the REV'IT! Jerez. I know I'm not going to be a racer, but what I lack in speed I am sure the "open" road will gladly substitute with --> money is not an issue when it comes to my safety. Any other gloves I should be looking at? Anybody have experience with either?

Held makes excellent gloves. You can't go wrong with those.

I'd also suggest the Teknic Xcelerator gloves. I have a pair and they provide full wrist protection and yet are much more comfortable than full race gloves usually are. They do run big though so order one size smaller than you normally wear if you go that route.

Held

I run Held and they hold up well.
Very comfortable as well as tons of protection.

I have 2 pair of the Held Galaxy, which are great gloves. I'll be getting the Phantom's next.

Wow, what a Held party! I use the Thruxtons from Held.

Riding gloves are a feel thing. If they use great materials and are well constructed, the only thing that will really set good gloves apart is fit. Try on a ton, buy ever so slightly tight as the leather will conform to your hand with use.

But yeah, Held rules.

Never owned a pair of Held, but I've only heard praise for the brand.

I really like my BristishMotorcycleGear.com Rapido gloves. They work well in spring, summer, and fall - not so much in winter.

I've seen some pretty poor comments on the stitching of high-end Dainese gloves. So I worry about those. Will they hold up in a crash? Will I have to replace them often?

I've heard good things about the Rev'it Jerez gloves. I'd like to buy those, but Rev'it just upped all its prices pretty substantially.

Pinky protection, palm sliders, and ulna protection are all things I'm very conscious of in high-end gloves.
