...love my HELD Air-Stream summer gloves ( http://www.motorcycle.com/products/h...iew-88243.html ) and am breaking in some Steve-II's now for next winter. They go on sale from time to time, so keep shopping around.

I have 2 pairs of Taichi gloves. They are worth looking into. What I really like about mine are the fit. My summer gloves while initially snug, now fit as if they were custom made for my hand. Something that thrills me about them is how unobtrusive the stitching is. You barely notice it.

I don't know if they have models with metal knuckles as I can see problems with this approach (sorta like making a metal helmet), but they are high end gear and extremely comfortable, so you never mind wearing them.

I probably have 10+ pairs of gloves total and now only use Taichi.

I've heard good things about the Rev'it Jerez gloves. I'd like to buy those, but Rev'it just upped all its prices pretty substantially.

Pinky protection, palm sliders, and ulna protection are all things I'm very conscious of in high-end gloves.
I had some very nice Dainese gloves that I paid a pretty penny for. They haven't held up nearly as well as a pair of alpine star gloves I've had for twice as long.

Just got a pair of the ICON Overlord Longs. Rain won't stop long enough to test them out, but quality seems good.

thanks for the rec. i came from having a very flimsy pair of alpinestars smx2 carbon gloves that pretty much tore up and took off a little bit of my skin when i went down. looking to pick up some held phantoms.

I have a few different brands, including Held, Alpinestars and Courtech. My Helds are the warm and dry gloves, and I'd have to admit they're good but not worth the money I paid. The Alpinestars are warm to hot weather riding gloves and I really like them, but I have 3 pairs of Courtech gloves, and for me they have by far the most comfort, durability, versatility and fit for the money. I also have 2 of their jackets, the denim DSX coat and a multi layered textile, and i've been so impressed with their stuff that I'll stick with them as long as they're in business.

I have a pair of Rev It Phantom Goretex gloves that I really like - excellent protection, comfortable to wear and real world waterproof.
