Just wanted to write a small summary of the last week of riding in France.

~2500km, 100 Alp Passes (a few about 2500 meters), about 10.000 hairnail bends (one can actually get enough :-) ), avrage time on bike 8-10 hours per day (depending on how much people was williing to twist the handle).

We started in Alsacs, went south to the Le Grant Alps (Provence), then east we shortly had contact with the Pyrenees, then north where we ended at Magny Cours (race track).

All in all, this was great, I can only say that I'll be back for what ever will happen next year....

A hugh thanks to Herve for aranging this Raid.

Oh, new race a Tiger in mountains.......

Regards/Casper

btw. I need a new back tier (actually both), and new break pads :-)

Casper,

I went on Herve's RAT trip to Morocco in May. I took a ferry from UK down to Santander, across Spain and met up with the group (10 Tigers) in Granada, then ferry across to Tanger followed by 4000km of good roads, tracks/gravel roads and no roads/tracks at all around the Atlas/Riff mountains and down to the desert, I had a really good time. He certainly sets a pretty grueling schedule,I was totally exhausted at the end (10 hours a day in the saddle, but that does include kebab/the a la menthe breaks on the way!) but very satisfying at the end. Maybe see on one of his trips next year..

Definitely you should try the Morocco trip next year, I can guarantee you will love it! The local people as sooo friendly!

Best regards,

Rod

Casper,

I fancy going on the Spain/Morocco trip again, but the borders does sound good. Whatever it will be great fun. Maybe see you next year!!

Anyone who reads this and wants a copy of the Spain/France/Morocco itinerary, let me know and I can e-mail it to them. Unfortunately I do not get a commission from RAT/MEB...

Hi Guys,

Many thanks for your congratulations ..
Please to do an other trip with you .. But like I said everytime .. It's not really holidays !! :upthumb:
In 2007, we will done extraordinary things .. you will see this in the next nuber of Torque ..
Border's Raid, Iberian Morocco and Mediterranéean tour will be moment like Morocco 06 or 100 passes 06 too.
We start for Santander on Monday afternoon with Annie to meet all the participants of Spain Tour ( 25 persons and 15 bikes ) and after we will done the last Raid of 2006 season : Corsica .. There are some places left yet ( 5 to 11 th November ) It's every year a rela expérience because the Corsica's roads are different than all roads in France.
See you on a R.A.T raid .. or at home if you are in south of France, there is everytime a beer, a steack, a bed and a bike for you !!
:chug: :chug:
