Looks great. One thing I might add since you live in the "Sunshine state" is to think about that flat black helmet. Don't get me wrong I like the looks of it and even considered the same finish in another brand. However, I live in the hot South as well. I think the flat black might look "cool" but in reality turn out to be reeeeeal "hot" (pun and lame humor intended). Just my two cents...maybe someone else will come along and share some practical wisdom.

thanks for the reply... I understand where you're coming from and I never really thought about the color being an issue, what would you recommend?

Just to give you a heads up on the Icon helmet paint finish...I have an Icon Domain with the same flat black finish, not sure what its painted with but its got a rubbery feel to it and it wears/rubs off easily otherwise I think Icon is a great helmet. There are too many great starter helmets to list. My 1st was an HJC Tribal, great but felt bulky and kinda heavy

My 2nd was the Icon Domain, again loved the helmet...got it on fleabay for cheap...but same as 1st, felt buly and heavy(but lighter than the HJC).
Now I have an Arai RX7 and I am spoiled, Very light and confidence inspiring helmet. I say confidence inspiring bc I dont feel like Im going to sling myself off the bike when I do a quick sholder check to change lanes and such.

Not so sure about the gloves...no wrist strap/gauntlet means they'll be off in a heartbeat if ya ever need em...asthetically, not too sure about the shade of the gloves with the jacket either, but what do I know, my gear is mostly black...
like the look of the rubatone...

thanks guys for all your input... as it looks, I'm gonna have about $500 extra bucks to spend on gear thanks to one of my classes filling up before I registered and just not paying attention on my part... private education will do that to you when you're taking 18 credit hours a semester and an international business major but I think I found some better alternatives to the gear I want... I'm going with a whole new set of gear except the the helmet and going with Joemomma's input with some better protection in the gloves!

Jacket: Xelement Men's Leather Padded Armor Jacket was $350 I can get it for $160

The jacket's got great armor and really good elastic in flex points, zip out liner also, all the reviews have been great.

Gloves: AlpineStars GP Plus Glove $160

since I broke my wrist laying the bike down I don't know what I was thinking not going for a more protective glove but hopefully these will do the trick (in black, thinking about a different paint scheme now for the bike...)

MAYBE!! ... an even BETTER helmet like this one:
Icon Racing Solid Rubatone Airframe $250

The input and replies from all the guys on this forum is something I look up to very much since you all are much more experienced then myself... So let me know what you think!

There ain't a glove in the world that will prevent a broken wrist.
As has been said before, black is not good in a strong sun. You'll roast yourself. If I were you, I'd look at the fabric side of the market for your jacket and pants. You can get good perforated ones like BMW & Hein Gerricke do and try to go for lighter colours. Or, if your budget is looking good, find some of those new leathers that have a special treatment that allows them to reflect the UV rays and, therefore, act as if they're white.

Update!
So my loan check for summer school came and I went down to the local bike shop because they were having a sale on Teknic apparel... I got this full Teknic perforated leather jacket which was $300 on sale for $150 and Teknic gloves which were $120 for $60 all of that brands goods were half off! I wish they had made helmets or I would have made out like a bandit! I got this KBC Tarmac Radiation helmet for $140 and walked out with some of what I think is "nice FIRST gear" for $340!! Let me know what you guys think, here are some pics:
