Anyone using cell phone GPS?

My old cell phone is on its last leg, so I've been browsing for a new one.
I'd like to get one with GPS if it would acually be useable on the bike.

Is anyone using a Phone based GPS while riding?

I'd appreciate your comments.

Garmin nuvifone?

I'm keeping a close eye on the yet to be released Garmin nuvifone.

It will certainly have good GPS software and antenna as standard. The camera will be a 3 megapixel model. If that's the case then I'd have in a single device a phone, GPS, camera, Bluetooth, and Internet access. It probably won't be waterproof, but my tank bag will resolve that.

I have the Nokia 6110 Navigator. I don't have it mounted, but hang it around my neck and listen to the instructions through the earbuds.

So far I haven't found any options in the US for a phone with maps installed on it. The navigation services offered require you to have both a GPS signal and a data signal. I'm not likely to maintain a data signal in most of the places I ride. I'm looking into PDA applications now, but they don't seem to show much promise either. Guess I'll get something basic and wait for the Garmin phone. Being that they don't have a carrier yet, I bet it will be pushed back to 2009 .

BadMouth,

Google is beta testing a mobile maps. No GPS or data required... It is still in beta so not fully functional.

BM,
I posed the same question over on BHO just recently and received some very useful info in response:
