Currently I ride with Chatterbox GMRS X1 which - for my needs - has been just fine.

However after a crash last spring (blah, blah, blah) I am looking to change my helmet headset system - the idea of having the mic right near my teeth is spooking me...

I have found the IASUS GP3.

But the set-up doesn't allow me to listen to music (iPod).

Firefox's seems to offer what I want, but I haven't heard that many good things about their rigs.


Does anyone have any experience with throat mics? Particularly ones that will allow for bike-to-bike and rider audio?

These have gotten pretty good reviews from scenario paintball players. Might be more like you are looking for.

I don't think you can listen to an external audio source (iPod) without some splicing.
