Heated Vest - Looking for some input

Hello All,

I'm interested in buying a heated vest and looking for some suggestions on what brands I should look at. I want a battery operated one.

Thanks!

I've love the Widder I've been using for many years, but if you search the boards you'll find many people have positive things to say about just about all the brands out there - I can't imagine there's a lot to choose between them. And yes, battery operated is probably the best - it's hard to carry a long enough extension cord otherwise...

WebBikeWorld has this review of a battery heated vest.

As an addition to the previous post, Webbikeworld seems to like the Jett battery vest the best----click on the link for the review above and then click to the link for the Jett. Good review/article. That vest would be my choice for battery operated I suppose.

gerbings

I have the gerbings lite heated vest..4-10 hours heat dependent on setting..mine last 6 hours plus on middle setting and plenty warm..only use when 40 or so...at 50 degrees with regular liner in jacket I am more than comfortable..purchase the battery operated so that I could use at Seahawk games..Mike Holmgren wore gerbings heated jacket at Green Bay playoff game..Seahawks lost but Mike did not complain about the cold..Good luck on your choice!Charges up in 4-5 hours ..only charge once a week for normal ride.

+1 on the Gerbing.
I opted for the heated jacket (like the vest but long sleeved) and a pair of G3 gloves.
Do get the dual temp controller it is handy and I think very Necessary.
These work best when worn tight to the body so I suggest a size or two smaller so you can wear your jacket over it.
It's a good idea to try it on first before you buy it.
What I thought was going to be the right size for me turned out to be too big.
I went with something alot smaller then I expected or were suggested.
You can run the Vest and the G3 gloves off the optional battery but you can not run the jacket with the gloves. Only the jacket or only the gloves.
When the weather is milder these are plenty warm without plugging them in too. So it is also a good idea not to wear too much under. I recommend a cotton turtle neck. This will keep the heating even and you will not have any hot spots where the gerbing comes in contact with skin. I know this from experience. I wore a long sleeve crew neck and what kept the body warm got my neck hot and it was very uncomfortable.

Good luck

I've got a Gerbings heated vest, Girbings heated pants, and Girbings heated gloves and I wouldn't change them for anything. They are the best. I have the controller that allows you to control the heat and I can ride in extreme weather throughout the year. Quality stuff with a lifetime guarentee on the electrics.

I have a Widder system, vest, arm chaps and gloves, and I never leave home without them. I also have the vest to glove wireing system when I do not need the arm chaps.

Don't forget the 'warm in safe' products.
