whats the best bike cover for the money?
I need to get a cover for my new bike to keep the dust off it during the winter while it is garaged. Any recommendations on the subject or the best brand?

A fitted sheet from the dollar store. You really just need to keep the salt and dust free from your baby.

One that doesn't stick to a hot exhaust pipe and leave plastic goo all over it.
If it's strictly for garaging it during the winter, just make sure it is something that breathes, so it won't hold water vapor.

Moving! that works best. Maybe the best cover is a microfiber dust rag and some spray detailer like Plexus or Honda Pro (whatever they call it). My bikes stay garaged, but rarely covered. Makes it easy to fire 'em up for that cold-weather ride.

Cover
If your gonna store it- use the fited sheet. Will do A GOOD JOB & IT BREATHES! If your gonna use it out doors- I use a Dowco- $30 + something. Works good, but dont use it mucjh. Did #@ the condo & will here when the season gets rolling. Water proof of sorts & does the job. In a garage over the winter- use the sheet!!! I keep my bike in a garage w/ friends. We split the rent x3 on a 12 x 25. Got the bench, jack tv tunes & every tool you could want!! I will keep the bike o/n on occasion here in season.. Then I will use the cover.
A handy thing to have. Fits in a compact bag so can take it with on trips. Kinda why I got it.

Pallet wrap, aquired from an employer: $0

Dessicant bags, saved from all those mail order items: $0

Opening your wrapped bike just like a christmas present in the spring:
Priceless
Actually, I live in CA and really have no idea about winter storage but the sheet sounds good to me. Just steal a flowered one from a hotel.

Sheet
Go to a kinky motel & get a skull + crossbone sheet?? No the sheet is the best idea!! Like I said I got the cover for outside times . I have usedmine 3-4 times so far , but I think I will use it more over the winter here living on the river & keeping the bike on the porch. A lot of work t onbring it back home to the garage when you are ridin the next morning!! A nice accessory but not a necessity! Talk t oher over the winter so she doesnt get lonely or think you have forgotten her!!

Walmart sells a nice indoor cover for $20-couple bucks. I have one on my bike and my daughters. I forget the brand name, but mine has held up nicely for three years. You do need to let the pipes cool down before putting it on.
