expanding your topic a bit...

I'm addicted to my Triumph polar buff... basically a polarfleece neck gaiter extended with a really long tube of lycra. You can wear it with the fleece around your neck and the lycra over your head and chin. You look like South Park Kenny, but keeps the wind off your chin and that tiny layer adds warmth under the helmet. (from MADSS or your Triumph dealer)

Same basic idea, I have a HJC balaclava for when it's really cold. Works like a charm and is long enough to tuck into the colar of my jacket to keep the wind out. The down side is everytime I exhale at a stop it fogs my glasses. Just means you can't ever stop.

Drew,
I got a nylon USAF MA-1 Flight Jacket in black. With my Dr. Martens and rolled up jeans I look like a SHARP except I have long hair. The interior is orange and the jacket is reversable so I can look like the great pumpkin on Halloween. It cost me $40 at the local surplus shop. I wore it in Chicago and was very warm wandering around the windy city at 30 degrees + wind chill.
It's not exactly good for crash protection, but great for wind protection while riding. If safety is a concern, get a thin riding jacket at a bike shop to wear over it as a shell. I have an Icon Merc that I sometimes wear over it.

yeah man, that Dainese Jacket is flippin HOT. i'm looking for a good winter jacket, and I may have to throw down on that one. i have the Nevada perforated jacket, and LOVE it (and got it CHEAP).

that MONTONE jacket, if i can find it here in the states, may have to join my closet, especially since Dainese leather pants have a different zipper than the rest of the manufacturers.

good luck with your purchase, Drew.

Get some pants, too. You'd be surprised what a difference it makes in overall body warmth.

OK Weasel, I got ya beat. I got this when I rockin the '69 Vespa. Same style BUT with removeable armor in the shoulders and elbows. I still wear it when I ride the Bonnie but I'm going to leather for more protection and warmth.
