Monte, that is not a bad looking bag! It fits better than what I imagined it would. It is difficult to imagine how a universal bag is going to fit without seeing it mounted, it looks good, thanks for the pics.

Greg,
I prefer no bag(s) at all, but when I absolutely need one I really like the Cortech Super Mini Magnetic Tank Bag.
Both efficient and effective... holds just enough, stays put w/o the tether, and can be had for around 50 clams. click

Now I have a homemade one that I really like. It fit's all of my stuff. A small tool roll, spark plugs, ignition wires, flashlight, carmex, sunscreen, a pocketknife and maybe a few other items.
I was going to write up a DIY instruction to build it at some point. Basically, I used a canvas mechanics tool bag, (nylon is available, but costs a lot more):

Available at any surplus store for about $6.00 and some 2" donut magnets:

I got 4 from Fry's for about a buck

Weasel, I love it! Great idea... definitely going to try it.

Here's a link to a place that still sells the N-R MG950. Scroll down the page a bit and there is a larger pic of it in its unexpanded state.

Dog, that is exactly the size bag I am looking for. Something large enough to fit some things and maybe a bottle of water. I came accross this one http://www.newenoughhp.com/browse/vi...duct_images/83
It is around the same size as the one you have, but it has external pockets too. I really like it, I think I want it.
Thanks for the link Monte, that place has some great prices! I may end up getting it from there.
Thanks for everyones input.
Greg

I just picked up the Triumph 16 litre tank bag and it works great. While it is made for the 675, it works perfectly on the bike. Well made, heck the rain cover even has a map holder in it. Top notch.

I have a couple of the Cortech tank bags - one is an up size from this one (mine) and the other is a 2 up size from this (hers). The best feature about them (IMO) is they have hidden shoulder straps that tuck away when not needed ... so when you get where you're going and happen to be walking away from the bike - you can carry the bag with you/wearing it like a backpack.

I have a Nelson-Rigg tank bag. Between the strength of the magnets and the cheapness of the vinyl material on the underside of the bag the magnets have begun to tear through. That, and my realization that the Bonneville is best in a minimalist form without bags or extra stuff of any kind, ended my use of the tank bag. At least for the daily stuff such as commuting and such. I would however like one for trips, so I went over to newbonneville to check out the bag ggRAT posted.
sigh… that's a lot of coin.

Guess I'll continue to bungie a bag to my seat when necessary.
